Human Nature

Human Nature explores the relationship between the five fundamental dispositions of human beings through a neuro-philosophical lens and various Greek deities to explore how humans are influenced by the Greek myths while also serving as inspiration for the tales.

My body of work represents power with Zeus (king of the Gods)and his brothers, Poseidon and Hades, pleasure with Aphrodite (Goddess of love and beauty), profit with Demeter (Goddess of the hearth), pride with Icarus (and the wax wings that carried him too close to the sun), and permanency with Prometheus and Pandora’s box (the creator of all mortal life and our downfall).

I am exploring the ways in which the act of story telling teaches us, and in turn, how we inform what happens in the story; the Gods were sent to Earth to teach the mortals but could only do so by exhibiting similar faults.
